This post “Better self-esteem: Step 3 – Identify behaviours that support your life goals” continues with how you can increase your self-esteem by achieving your goals and improve your life.

Better self-esteem: Step 3 – Identify behaviours that support your life goals

Step 1 is about rating your life satisfaction and your aspirations in 10 important life areas connected to well-being.

Step 2 is then about selecting your prioritized 2-3 life areas.

Step 3 is about identifying your desired qualities and expectations. This includes how you would be and behave if you already now would be living your desired life with regard to your 2-3 prioritized areas.

As an example, instead of better sleep as in the problem-focused goalsetting, your prioritized life areas could be physical and mental health. The related desired state could then be living a balanced life with regard to work, leisure, fun and relaxation, without recurrent stress-symptoms impacting your sleep quality more than occasionally.
