Better self-esteem: How to make goals time limited

The 5 important characteristics of the SMART model help you identify and achieve motivating goals:

Specific

Measurable

Achievable

Relevant

Time Limited

Start by specifying your problems, related specific situations and consequences.

Then identify how to measure your goals and subgoals.

Choose achievable goals that are realistic and healthy.

Also, the goals should be relevant. Some problems cannot be eliminated, but it may be possible to find strategies to improve the situation.

Finally, the goals should be TIME LIMITED, specifying when the goal and each sub-goal should be accomplished.

Self-help goals can be either short term, medium term or long term. Long term goals may take years to achieve.

Short term goals may be achieved in weeks.

To stay motivated, it may help to break down long term goals in weekly and monthly goals, creating a rewarding process.
