One way of reducing self-critical shame is to become more self-compassionate.

Understanding of how the brain works, including the autonomous nervous system and the functioning of its two parts: the sympathetic nervous system, the fight/flight/freeze system, and the parasympathetic nervous system, the calming system connected to recovery and sleep. It also includes strategies for activating and moderating these, as well as the importance of understanding the primary feelings and the motivational systems of human beings.
